American Urban Radio White House correspondent April Ryan tweeted a misleading comment about President Donald Trump’s celebration of America this afternoon at the White House. Trump held the event in place of the Eagles Super Bowl celebration, which was hastily canceled after only a handful of Eagles players decided to attend.
Ryan, a CNN contributor, tweeted out that as Trump began speaking at the event, the crowd “heckled and booed” him and that reporters have “confirmed” this.
Multiple reporters, including Daily Caller White House correspondent Saagar Enjeti, who was at the event, refuted this. Footage of the event shows that a single heckler began shouting at Trump as he began speaking, drawing the boos of the audience. CNN White House producer Noah Gray, who was at the event, fact-checked Ryan by tweeting, “This is not true.”
